Danielle & Kendrick

Our love story began the summer of 2010. Kendrick and I met through some mutual friends we shared.  Although we were very opposite, we hit it off from the start. We spent the majority of that summer together on the weekends, when he could leave the Military base.

The summer flew by and Kendrick was set to deploy with the 1/8 Marines to Afghanistan in September. By the beginning of September our summer romance had given us something much more then butterflies. When he deployed to Afghanistan I was two months pregnant, with our daughter Alexa. She is the source of our every happiness and the apple of her daddy’s eye. She is now almost nine months old and gets to see her daddy every weekend and on holidays.

Christina & Bill's Story

Hi! My name is Christina Dorrin, I have a great story I think you would like to hear and I would like to share with everyone.

Three years ago when my mother had passed away a group of my friends and myself went to a local carnival. We had went on all the rides we could over and over again. One of the girls I was with was a local firefighter. Her company was helping with the carnival and selling raffle tickets. We went over to where all the firefighter's were and there stood Bill. We started talking and became friends. At that time I could not see myself with Bill, at that time he was only 18 and I was 20. After a couple months of being very close friends and being inseparable we finally decided to take our friendship to the next level. We knew from that point on we would be together forever and always have each others heart!

On Christmas night of 2009, Bill asked me to marry him in front of a group of our friends, at the Philadelphia Art Museum's river front. It was one of the happiest times of my life. After that we only had a few short weeks before Bill would be leaving for Boot camp with the United States Marines. We both wanted a wedding that everyone would always remember, but with myself having a 4 year old son at the time, we knew we would have to do something that would be more practical and not that much money.

After Bill left for boot camp in February 2010, I found out a week later that we were expecting our first child together, and whatever plans we had for a wedding would have to be pushed back for a couple years later. Bill was very happy to find out he would have a daughter and had always accepted my son as his own from the very beginning. Through the course of 2010 it was a very hard year for the both of us. Bill was only able to come home for 14 days throughout that entire year. He knew that was what to expect with the services he had agreed to become a Marine. We would not change anything about our time apart, because it had only made our love grow stronger towards each other and we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world and our family was finally complete with our son and daughter and family of our own.  Bill's family had also grown a lot throughout time with all of the brothers and sisters he had welcomed into his life with the Marines!!

Jessica Moyer & Bo Doyle

Bo and I met on July 9, 2010, when he was in town on leave. I could immediately tell that Bo was either in the military or had been in the military. I had asked him about what branch he was in or had been in and he responded with “The Army, but how did you know?” It made me laugh because it was beyond obvious! When it was time to leave he told me that he had to see me again, so he asked for my number and said he would only be in town for a couple more days. The next few days flew by! It was as if we had known each other forever! Before he left for Fort Bliss he told me that he felt it was fate that we met and I couldn’t have agreed with him more!

We had been talking everyday, so on August 4, 2010, when the reality of his deployment was becoming more obvious we decided to discuss our relationship status. We discussed how we felt for each other and mentioned his fear of potentially not making it back from war alive. At that point in time I never thought I believed in “soul mates,” but I felt that Bo could truly be mine. I told him that I could never forgive myself for not trying to make our relationship work and that is why we consider August 4, 2010, to be the day that we started dating!

We have been together over a year and it has not been an easy year! We have definitely had our obstacles, but I wouldn’t a change a thing! Even though we have spent most of our relationship apart I believe it has made us stronger. People take time for granted and when we finally get our time together we couldn’t be more thankful for those few moments! We always say that if we make it through all of this then we can make it through anything and I truly believe that.

We got engaged on August 1, 2011, and we are both so excited to spend the rest of our lives together, but every time we discuss plans our lack of funds always puts a damper on everything. Bo has given me so much since we’ve met, so I would like to finally do something for him. Winning this wedding with Operation Happily Ever After would be a dream come true! We would both be forever grateful if you could please help us win this contest, so we can finally start our lives together and live happily ever after!
